First impression

Self-Shot is a new site that apparently gets real self-taken nude and semi-nude pictures from hot girls, and uses Twitter to verify that the girls are "real people". I guess what they're saying is that they make sure they are real amateurs, more than real people, and the tour would suggest the site is tight coupled with Twitter: all the previews are from Twitter feeds, the names of the users obscured until you sign up.

The pictures look really good, and there are some awesome self-pics. I see a lot of porn stars in these previews you though, including Jessie Rogers, Asa Akira, Charli Shiin, and Anissa Kate. To be fair, there are lots of girls that look like authentic amateurs too.

I'm intrigued. I signed up to see what Self-Shot had to offer its members inside. Read on for an in depth report.

What Do We Think of Self Shot

After logging in I ended up at the All of GFs homepage - a network homemade amateur porn, mostly starring hot petite girls 18 and 19 years old. It didn't take too much longer to go the albums and videos of Self-Pics, one of the network sites, and once there to see that all the talk about twitter was just marketing fluff, and the quality of the pictures - and the porn star girls - you saw on the tour is the only place you'll see them. This is a rather typical library of videos and pictures made by amateur girls having sex and posing nude, much like the other sites on the All of GFs network.

Authentic homemade strip teases, fucking and self pics

I was a little annoyed by the fact that the angle they had on the tour - the pics and girls being connected to Twitter accounts - was all a bunch of BS. I can't get too mad, though, because the library does feature what I came to see: real girls, 18-23 years old, taking pictures of themselves half-naked, topless or nude, as well as making homemade sex tapes with their boyfriends and girlfriends.

The scenes look to be very authentic and in the whole collection I didn't spot a porn star. I didn't see any of the pics that were on the tour, either. The images I did find among the albums were much lower quality, and very much made by amateurs themselves: the glare of a flash in a mirror, the too-dark indoor self pic, shots of themselves fresh out of the shower, all give away that most of this content is the real deal when it comes to amateurs.

The sex you'll see is mostly couples and boy/girl, with lots of blow jobs, cum shots, and some great hardcore as well. There are masturbation videos and lesbian sex scenes in the mix here as well as a lot of "self shot" strip teases and nude solo videos. Perhaps calling them 'scenes' is going too far - they are usually under 10 minutes most just a minute or two from start to finish.

Average video streams and downloads

I guess it's homemade so there's not much to be done about it, but there are other sites in this niche that have managed to clean up the videos and pictures a bit better. You can save movies in average quality mp4 files that open to 576x432 screen resolutions (2.2 mbits) at best, though many will be smaller and have much lower bit rates. Flash videos have a small 448x352 resolution and a decent quality playback that you can watch right in the members area, without downloading anything permanently or having to wait: just click play.

Average pictures

Some sets have just a few pictures, some have dozens or even as many as 100 but most are under 20 images on average. The pictures will range in quality and size, though most are not high resolution and under 1200x800 pixels. You can browse through a gallery online but they don't have zip-file downloads for the sets.

Decent library but no updates

There were 140 albums and 96 videos in the collection at the time of my visit. Most of the albums were added a month or so before my visit, and the most of the videos were added 5 months prior to my visit. The last update was over a month ago. I'm not convinced the site is growing at all just at the moment.

All of GFs network access

You do get unlimited access to the rest of the All of GFs network sites which feature a lot more of the same types of content: self pics, masturbation, couples sex, and all of it will be homemade and featuring real amateurs. The network is pretty big and there are updates somewhere every day usually.

Final Thoughts on Self Shot

Self Shot doesn't quite live up to the image it creates on its tour, but it does have a nice library of sexy girls showing off in self-pics and homemade videos. It's mostly solo girls here but there's a fair number of blow job, hardcore sex, and lesbian sex updates in the mix as well. The library hasn't been updating but with access to the rest of All Of GFs things can still work out for you here.

Who Competes with Self Shot

The porn over at See My GF will be much to your liking if what you are after is real homemade and amateur smut. There's plenty of authentic girls showing their tits and bodies in self pics as well as some hardcore, masturbation, and lesbian action.

Mofos network can give you something a little higher quality: hotter girls, 1080p HD video, and lots of great POV hardcore and public fucking. The scenes are scripted but they try to make it seem like real homemade videos, and they do a good job. The network is big and updates daily.
